Yamuachi aims for retirement
Japanese news and industry website Mainichi Interactive recently conducted an interview with Nintendo Co. Ltd.'s president Hiroshi Yamauchi in which the executive once again promised that he would soon retire.
Yamauchi, who reiterated his position that the videogame industry is lagging due to stale, rehashed software, said that he has been thinking about retiring for more than two years and that he may finally go through with it this summer. The company leader also stated that in his absence Nintendo would not see a new president, but rather be governed by a group of higher-ups -- each filling a particular director responsibility.
The established businessman has pledged that he would retire several times in past years and has always postponed the decisions.
